Master Samuel

On the Friday after Thanksgiving we went down to see Aubrey and her family. Samuel was play with the light sabres so Papa decided to play Star Wars w/ Samuel. He is such a cutie. He enjoyed his play time with Papa.

Afterwards David and Carlin played around and Samuel watched in awe. He is thinking "Go daddy...."
We had a great time and went shopping as well. I bought the outfit Samuel has on from Old Navy. Can't beat a good sale!!

PRINCESS SOPHIE

This is Sophie. She thinks she is the princess of the house. She

loves the finer things of life...A good mouse now and then.

Princess Sophie pampers herself whenever possible.

Aaahhh to be a CAT. I could handle that. To bask in the sun.

Be pampered by your human.

Meals on a silver platter.

scratch behind my ear will ya....

oh that's right my chin, I love for

my chin to be scratched.

Yes...I'm the one and only Princess Sophie!
and I like it that way!!

One of those days!

Ever have one of those days where you feel blah? It didn't start out that way. We went to Norman to Aubrey's baby shower. That was fun. Little girl clothes are waaaayyyy cute! It was just afterward... I was hungry and no one else was. It didn't matter what anyone else said I just wasn't into it anymore. Aubs even offered to go to the mall and get something to eat. I just wasn't in the mood any more. It was time to go home. I slept just about all the way home. Even my little Boo Boo Bear was having one of those days!

When we got home Keys and I went out to eat. BLT was sure good. I bought two sweaters that ended up being on sale. KeLei bought two scarfs that were for a good price. I bought Samuel a Christmas present that was for $29.97, but I had a $20.00 coupon so I got it for $2.97. So my day ended up okay. But it still feels like one of those days!

Tomorrow will be better!!

A Look Into the 80's

This was my senior year in high School, standing in front of our church on a Sunday morning.
I was 17 1/2 years old. 1979.
My first year of college I had the best roommates ever! Starting at the front from
left to right. Holly-Idaho, Robin-Kentucky, Vicki-Kentucky,Linda-Oregon, Leslie-Texas
and then ME! The year was 1981!

In 1982 I decided I had better lose that freshman 16. I worked out every day
running 4 miles, doing 40 reps of knee bends and sit-ups. morning and evening.
This was the best shape I had ever been in. I weighed 120lbs. I also made another drastic
change when I cut off all my long hair that I had, had all my life. I went from this.....

TO THIS!! My dad was not to thrilled. He loved my long hair! I was tired of being mistaken
for a 16 year old. I was 20 years old by then. It was time to start looking like one!!

I met David in 1983 after going back to Ricks College to see my boyfriend. Things didn't
work out and I met David instead. After dating off and on for 2 months David ask me to
marry him in December. We were married in the Jordan River Temple April 21st, 1984

I always wanted to this, the reason you see such vengence is because David had smeared
the cake in my face the picture before! This day was the start of a Rocky at times but loving
relationship that has last 25 years.
Stay tuned for the Children years...........

The Making of Me!

Mom would make Tomato Soup and Grilled cheese sandwiches all of the time. That was one of our favorite meals as a child, that and peanut butter and banana sandwiches.I loved the retro flowers growing up! I even had a groovy dress that had flowers all over it that my mom made for me when I had an awards banquet to go to in 8th grade.Penny Candy.....We could buy three pieces of candy for a penny. On our way home from school we would collect pop bottles and then turn them in for money. That's how we got our candy and Nehi grape and orange soda pop to drink as well. Yes I listened to Barry Manilow growing up. He was popular in the 7th and 8th grades. Oh Mandy, I write the songs and others were my favorite songs to listen to around bedtime. I had a black pair of go-go boots that I wore all of the time in Elementary school. Sometimes I would tuck my pants into them. In high school I had a pair of lace up leather boots that I wore with gouchos and certain dresses. I
We watched the Sonny and Cher show in the early 70's that was one of our favorite shows. By the mid to late 70's we watched Emergency. I thought Randolph Mantooth was sooooo good looking. He was about the only poster I had of a guy in my room. It was a small one at that.Aaah yes.... 70's rock and roll. My brother listened to KISS and Grand Funk Railroad so consequently so did I much to the dismay of our parents!!Clogs were the very first "high hill" shoe I ever wore and they looked something like these. I wore them in high school and thought I was so cool, they were hard for me to walk in at first. A far cry from my spike hills of the 80's.....Disco fever hit in the late seventies early 80's. I could dance just as good as any one else and was not afraid to shake my groove thang!!
This is my life so far. We'll get to the 80's and 90's later on. Can we say Punk Rock and Totally Rad, S W I N G...........

time to say goodbye

Where did the summer go I ask?? It went way to fast I say.
The flowers are still in bloom, the grass in still an emerald green.
The trees still have their leaves, We are still having summer storms.
So I say again???? Where did my summer go?

Why do I ask these questions you say?
College students are coming back.
There are back to school signs in the stores.
Traffic is starting to build up again.
School parking lots are coming to life.
AAAhhhh yes the signs are there indeed.
My summer has come and gone.

And me....Well I'm still the same, just anticipating
beautiful fall leaves, pumpkins, and my jacket.
Hmmmm, Maybe I'm not so sad about summer leaving
AFTER ALL!!

Peace I leave with You

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you. John 14:27
This morning Dallin's friend died in a freak accident. He fell off the back of a pickup truck at work last night, and hit is head. What saddens me the most is the fact that this young man had not seen his father in 2 years. Dallin said his parents were at a lost, esp. his father. His father did not have the understanding that one day he would be able to see his son once again and hold him in his arms in a joyful reunion. My wish this day is that this family may have a peace of mind. That the father will seek out the truth and understand where his son is. That our brother Jesus Christ died for us that one day we may return back to Him. May we all have a Peace of Mind in these troubled times and learn to lean on our Father in Heaven and our Savior Jesus Christ.

The Eyes have It!

Why is it every time something comes up it has to do with my eyes!!!
I'm getting really tired of this. I've been having trouble seeing ever since
we got back from our vacation. This past weekend I had a bad migraine.
The more time that pass my eyes kept getting cloudier and I was having
a hard time seeing my work. So today I went to the doctor to get my migraine
prescription filled and since I was close to the eye doctor I thought I would
stop in. Come to find out I have mucous in my eyes and that is what was
making my contacts so cloudy. It seems I have an allergy in my eyes
and it's causing the mucous. Of all of the blasted things to have. I swear
if it's not one thing it's another!!

Old Nauvoo

This is the Cabin we stayed in while in Nauvoo. It was a great cabin and we sure enjoyed our stay. The owners were really great too.

Night or day the Nauvoo Temple is the most beautiful temple ever!!! As I stood up on the hill and looked across the river the thought came to me of how the Saints must of felt to leave their beloved prophet behind and to see their Beautiful Temple going up in flames. The sadness they must have felt to see something they worked so hard on being desecrated by the mob. Not knowing what was ahead of them, but knowing they must do as the Lord commanded and go west ward to start new lives. What faith they must have had. To have that kind of faith today.
