Leaves for Leontien

Since I am a breast cancer survivor I know
what it's like to go through radiation and
wonder every time you have a mammogram
will it come out negative.

Leontien is battling an aggressive form of melanoma (see an update to her status here,)
This is just a note to say hang in there Leontien, a lot of people are thinking about you.

He comes over for a visit all of the time.
We enjoy his visits and love taking his picture.

Hot and Dry

We have had a very hot and dry summer.
Days of 100's, today being 112 degrees.
Two days ago we had a huge grass fire near town
that burned 500 acres. I was able to get pictures
of the tail end of the fire as the Blackhawk started
dropping much needed water.

The town of Stillwater owes a lot to the Emergency
Personnel. The day was up to 111 degrees and the
men and women were taking shifts to try to put the fire out.
Surrounding towns came to help out as well.
The People of Stillwater helped the firefighters by
bringing truck loads of bottled water and Gatorade.
By the end of the day they had a semi full.
The fires have started up twice, but not as bad as the first time.
God bless the people who lost their homes and
the farmers who lost their much needed hay bales.
It's going to be a tough winter.
